Students in the 21st century are faced with the challenge of learning about an interconnected world where knowledge is constantly developing. Recognizing that knowledge is not static, the program seeks to uncover enduring understandings through a concept driven, inquiry-based curriculum framework.
Important features of this framework are the explicit teaching of skills, the development of personal attitudes and student engagement in self-initiated, responsible action. Play-way method of teaching encompass the basics of Languages (English, Hindi/Tamil), Arts, Mathematics, Social Sciences, Science, Computer Literacy, Music and Physical Education.
The essential goal of the Primary Program is to help each child become an independent learner while valuing the interdependence in the world during the five essential forming years of life. The program offers a balance between learning about or through the subject areas, and learning beyond them.
TIPS educates students to excel both academically and personally and to care and respect the school community and the community in which they live. Evaluation and progressive testing is an ongoing process that takes place throughout the year with daily quizzes, participation, projects and homework as part of Formative Assessment Strategies.
